Big Horn Sheep, Colorado National Monument

Bighorn Sheep, Colorado National Monument:

Bighorn Sheep roadside, young ones. They were grazing on grasses and plants. These are “high desert” Bighorns, about the size of a small deer.

I had a slip of the pencil at the top of the page…unfortunate. Couldn’t have happened in a worse spot on the page huh?

The junipers are loaded with pale, sage green colored berries. When they turn brown and drop, the chipmonks eat the insides and leave them on the rocks and boulders where they seem out of place. Thus, they are referred to as “ghost beads”.
